SKIN CARE -Remedies for common skin ailments

To treat pimples

Wipe your skin with rose and camphor water tonic. Follow it up by rubbing tomato halves on the affected areas. This will reduce the oiliness and help shrink open pores. Also apply a mask of sandalwood paste to which add a piece of camphor. Drink 10-12 glasses of water everyday.

To remove suntan

Take 4 tsp of sandalwood powder, five tbls of coconut and two tsp of almond oil. Mix together and apply on the exposed areas.

To help remove tan in arms

Massage with sandalwood based cream and apply a paste of multani mitti (fullers earth) and sandalwood powder mixed together.

To treat dull skin

Mix 2 tsp of whole-wheat flour with milk and scrub all over the face until the milk is absorbed. Wash off with cold water.

Anti-wrinkle free face pack for dry skin

One tsp of honey, 2 drops of sandalwood oil and two tsp of milk. Mix together and massage this into your skin. Wipe off with a moist cotton wool pad. Apply egg white that has been whipped thoroughly. Let it dry completely and wash off with chilled water to which add 2 drops of geranium oil. This tightens skin, makes it soft and fragrant too.

To treat cracked lips and to keep it soft

Apply pure coconut oil on your lips, add a tsp of honey. Massage your lips with this several times a day.

To treat scaly legs

Take 5 tbls of sea salt and mix with milk. Scrub on the skin vigorously and wash off. It acts as a powerful cleanser and exfoliater.

Natural blood purifier

Boil 10 neem leaves every day and drink this water. Keep the skin completely oil free. Add a tsp of camphor powder to 100ml of rose water. Wipe face with this tonic several times a day.

To treat marks

Take a cup of both red and white sandal wood powder and half cup of oatmeal. Mix with a little milk and rose water and scrub all over face and body, 3times a week until mark fades.

For a glowing skin

It is essential to clean, tone and moisturize skin daily. Take a tsp of milk and honey and massage face with it, followed with an application of a tsp of almond paste and a tsp of sandalwood paste mixed together with the juice of a lemon and some mashed papaya. Scrub your face well with it in slow circular motions; this will cleanse face and glow.

OR

Eat healthy food and add the cucumber and banana to your daily diet. Drink at least 2 glasses of milk everyday. Make the following mask.
Take 2 tsp of sandal wood paste, 2tsp of gram flour, a pinch of camphor powder, 3 tsp of almond paste, 10 strands of saffron, the white of an egg and some milk to mix it all into a smooth paste. Apply all over the skin and leave on for 20 mins. Dab with cold milk and scrub off gently. This should be used 3 times a week.

To remove dark circles

Cause: lack of sleep, tension, inadequate diet, lack of water, internal weakness, cause dark circles under the eyes. If any of the causes may be the reason then get down to treating it. Most of our skin problems are internal and require treating from within before we even begin other skin treatments.
Massage the area with almond and coconut oil daily and wipe off after 30 mins. Make the following eye pack. Take one tsp of almond paste, half a tsp of sandalwood paste, half a tsp of grated potato, 10 drops of lemon juice and half a tsp of fresh cream. Mix together and apply around your eyes. Let dry completely and wash off gently. This should be done on alternate days.

OR

Start to massage the area around the eyes with 2 to 5 drops of coconut oil every day before going to bed. Wipe off with some moist cotton wool after 20 mins. Drink 10-12 glasses of water. Wipe skin daily with rose water and glycerin mixed together. Apply a face pack of sandalwood powder with rosewater once a week.

Add 1 teaspoon honey and with a cotton swab, apply it on face. Keep it for around half an hour. Rinse with warm water.

Simple Solutions for Better Skin

Here are a just a few natural skin care solutions for you to try. You'll be very pleased with the results: Once a week, rub your skin with baking soda while in the shower, for a smooth, silky feeling. You can also do this on your face to remove black heads.

Fresh tomatoes are great for the oily areas of your face. (Please make sure to try the tomato juice on your arm first, as your skin
may be sensitive to it). Rinse thoroughly immediately after using the tomato juice.

For a great moisturizer try olive oil: this healthy fat is good for you, and is great for your skin. You can also use it to soothe sunburned skin.

Vinegar can work wonders for smelly feet and armpits. Mix water and vinegar 50/50, and use in place of deodorant: it will keep the unpleasant sweat smell away, without any irritation. As for your feet, if you suffer with athlete's foot, a week of vinegar foot bath will help a lot, sometimes completely getting rid of your condition.

Egg yolk mixed with honey makes for a really great mask: put on your skin, leave it on for 20 minutes, and rinse off. Excellent for sensitive skin. Honey gives a tingling/ticklish sensation, so if you are sensitive to that, use the egg yolk alone.

Another use for egg yolk: for those with eczema, use it instead of soap. It doesn't smell great, but it will heal your damaged skin.

A great treatment for dry skin is avocados: mash it, smooth it onto your face, and rinse off after 20 minutes.

Lastly, make sure you drink 8 glasses of water every day to keep your skin cared from the inside out.

Simple Ways to Retain a Youthful Look

Women, in one way or another, wish to look young all our lives. Whether you pin the blame on our upbringing, the media or our youth-oriented society, the thing is that we do indeed desire to retain our youthful looks for as long as we can. That is why cosmetic surgery and the cosmetic industry in general are making loads of money. Many women – and even men – are willing to spend a tremendous amount just to keep their faces and bodies looking young.

But did you know that retaining a youthful look is quite simple and that you do not have to break the bank just to achieve it? It is just as easy as taking care of your self and deciding for yourself to make a few changes in your habits and lifestyle.

Taking care of your self from the outside.
The one part of the body that easily reveals our age is our skin. Having dry, stretched skin with wrinkles, fine lines and spots makes a person look old. One way of keeping our skin looking young is to make a habit of moisturizing the skin at least twice a day – once in the morning and once at night, before you go to bed. Keeping the skin moisturized makes our skin feel soft and smooth and plumps up the fine lines. The act of rubbing the skin with the moisturizer also helps improve blood circulation to the skin.

There are specifically formulated moisturizing products targeted to suit the different areas of our skin. A face cream is for the face and the face alone. It should not be used for the hands or the body. A hand and body lotion is for the hands and the body only; they should not be used for the face. There are different products designed particularly for the neck, the foot, and the eyelids. This may seem tedious, but different areas of the skin have different moisture requirements. Use these products to “feed” your skin with moisture. Remember as well that oily skin needs oil-free products, while dry skin needs extra moisture.

Also, try to keep out of the sun as much as you can. The sun’s ultraviolet rays harm the skin; not only does constant exposure induce the appearance of wrinkles on the skin, but it also causes ailments such as skin cancer. If you have to go out, make sure you are protected. Use a hat and sunglasses. Your skin products should also have SPF.

Makeup also helps. Dab a concealer over the pimples, the dark circles under the eyes, and whatever skin blemishes that you have. After that, apply a light foundation, then a touch of the bronzer and a little lipstick. Take care not to put on too much makeup; too much makeup makes us look older instead of younger.

Don’t forget your hair. All the effort that goes into taking care of the skin will all be wasted if the hair is not given enough attention as well. Keep your roots touched up if you have dyed hair. You may also want to frame your face with highlighted locks to add light to your face. Keep your hair clean, soft and well-groomed.

Taking care of your from the inside.
What is inside is reflected on the outside. To have a youthful, glowing look, we have to take care of the inside of our bodies too. And that is done by eating right so our bodies get the right nutrients, by exercising right so our muscles would be toned and flexible, and by drinking a lot of water to wash out the waste and toxins from our body. Another thing that you should do is to minimize or even eliminate the consumption of alcohol. You should also quit smoking. Visit the dentist regularly as well to keep your teeth white, strong and healthy.

Whether the fountain of youth is real or not, what matters is that we women should learn to take better care of ourselves. In learning how to take better care of ourselves, we have already found our own fountain of youth.Posted byRajeshat4:06 AM

Easy Effective Tips to Moisturize Your Skin

Fitness Expo Babes

Here’s a big bunch o’ pics of fitness babes at some expo. If I were on my game, I would not only tell you which expo but tell you who the babes are – names, gpa, genetic sequence. Instead, I’m just gonna toss these up here and let you enjoy. If you know who the babes are, feel free to add it in the comments section.

Louise Rogers

is an IFBB Figure Pro from Great Britain. She is 5’8″ tall and about 136 lbs. Lou has been doing plenty of training and traveling lately, but she was sidelined by an illness and actually had to have surgery.

Louise’s story is interesting. She earned her pro card after competing in only three events. She is the only British gal to earn a pro card in several years. She was a sprinter and hurdler in school, so that’s how she began her athletic career.

After school, she started spending more time in the gym, and she spent the first few years strength training, with little or no emphasis on cardio.

A quick update to our post a few weeks back on Valerie Ross, a stunningly beautiful Asian fitness model. Sort of hard to get enough of this babe.

#thissportisexpensive

fleuryvette on twitter who sparked a twitter storm of DM’s and mentions: how does one get sponsored? Because dammit !

First, there is no guaranteed blueprint way to getting sponsored; it happens in a huge array of ways. Follow basic guidelines and put “You” into it and you’ll ignite interest. Just make sure that it’s from the attention of those you want.

Second, there is a difference between sponsorship and endorsements. Sponsorships are usually quid pro quo. Sponsorships may require for you to spend your money in order to make money. Endorsements is when you just have to be you and they’ll pay you to be just that! Occasionally, you’ll wear their clothes, make a statement about the products or be in their ads.

When I’m talking about sponsorship, usually you’ll hear Team (enter brand name), you will supplement the brand. Endorsements you’ll hear Ava Cowan, Serena Williams, Tiger Woods, etc where you will complement the brand. Got it?

Sponsorship packages come in many angles. 1) I’ll send you free product if you compete or blog or whatever. You can use them and market it for us. Telling all you know that you used it to get to your current state. 2) I’ll send you free product, you do paid appearances for me and you get to tell everyone. 3) you sell the products, distribute them, get some free. Or 4) all the above: sell it, distribute it, paid appearances and get it free.

Third, get started. Takes some research. Find brands, companies that you want to be affiliated with. Brands that are looking to expand into your territory, brands that have sought people or have had others sponsored before. Don’t waste your time & money in a company that feels the product sells itself and doesn’t need a face or name to market it. Some are excellent companies like Bev International who’s brand doesn’t believe in sponsorship but does believe in distributorship. You couldn’t know that if you didn’t research it (or I didn’t tell you).

Find those companies that align with you, what you want and target them.

Fourth, your package. Do you compete? How often? Include your past history and placing, organization and category.

Do you blog? How often? What’s your reach/hits/following? Include that in your package with snapshots of your website and analytical page (or independent analytical page like Alexa.com).

Are you a business? What kind? Maybe youre a great candidate for distributorship! How many clients? How can this penetrate a deeper reach for you and your business.

Include your social network aspect. Use Klout.com for this on twitter, fb friends or even better fb pages.

Fifth: putting together and put it online. Why? Because it readily accessible. If you have a website, someone happens to read it with the power to reach out to you, why not have it sell you while you’re at work? That’s my mistake! Thankfully, Carol of Muscleology found me on Twitter because my tweet box is on my blog page. But she didn’t have to venture that far for me if she didn’t want to. She could have moved on to the next. Again thankfully she didn’t! Thanks to Twitter!!!

Put it online may mean google docs if you don’t have a website, so when opportunity arises you can easily email it. Or if you do have a site or blog, make it a downloadable PDF from the site.

Sixth: the pull. The pull is the actual letter or email you will draft to get folks interested in you! That is the only correspondence you will send out. Remember features tell but benefits sell! Okay you compete-so what??? Okay you blog-so what??? Okay you run a business-So What!?

WIIFM? What’s in it for me (the sponsor) because I already know what’s in it for you? That’s when you have to sell you and only by knowing your worth, your uniqueness and your potential can PULL them towards your way. Everyone wants to get with someone/something special. Find that about yourself and then deliver it in this “pull” letter. Send pics & testimonials as well if it makes sense to.

Finally, there are monetary sponsorships as well. Don’t neglect this opportunity as well. It works the same way! The quid pro quo could mean spokesperson, appearances, articles or blog posts, clothing to be advertised or worn, giveaways or mentions on social media or tv outlets.

Hope this helps and like I said, there is no cookie cutter way to do this but this is a solid step to get you notice and in the door!Share this:StumbleUponDiggReddit

How To Look Like A Female Fitness Model

/Classic BodybuildingJust another WordPress.com siteHomeAboutHome > Classic Bodybuilding > How To Look Like A Female Fitness ModelHow To Look Like A Female Fitness ModelSeptember 10, 2010seobbtLeave a commentGo to comments

By Vince DelMonte

Do you pass by the magazine stands in the
store and envy the bodies of the cover models? More and more women today are
coveting this body type; strong and muscular while still being feminine. Gone
are the days where strong women are seen as too masculine and unattractive.
The female fitness body is here to stay.

Now, curves are back so long as they are created with muscle mass and have a softer appearance. Hot celebrities such as Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba are now gracing the covers showing off their new curves. What’s more is that these women are garnering a great deal of male attraction – much more than their thinner counterparts such as Lindsay Lohan or Victoria Beckham.

Luckily, if you make some smart changes to your workout program you can get yourself on the road to looking like the next female fitness model, maybe even covermodel!

First things first. Pink Weights.

If you want to add sexy curves to your body, you need not be afraid of heavier weights. Don’t worry, you are not going to bulk up and begin bearing resemblance to Vin Diesel, as women simply do not have the testosterone in their bodies to be able to do this. In fact, in a very good situation, assuming sound training and great nutrition, a woman would be lucky to put on about half a pound of muscle mass per month. Not quite as scary as you thought right? And that is assuming everything is done right

Hi! It is now 6 weeks out from the UFE National Championships for client, Angela Rivard. She has gotten the chance to work into her new routine of her career switch to personal training and her new contest prep plan.

Angela is well on her way to being stage ready! The things we are working on are maintaining as much muscle as possible as prep goes on, making things “work in” to her new schedule, and she would like to attempt a different pre-stage strategy. The plan for the final phase will be added closer to her show.

Fitness Model Teagen Rose giving a shout out to Krave Fit Magazine at his photo-shoot.

Beth Polisson

is very much a fitness model extraordinaire. She has the smile, the poses, and of course the physique. This lady has some rock hard abs. Can’t catch them at a bad angle or in bad light. She started out at the tender age of 3, not as a fitness competitor but as a soccer player. She played all the way through college and sort of graduated into weight training and leading others into her fitness lifestyle through instruction and inspiration.

Beth is 28 years old. She stands 5’6″ tall and weighs about 137 lbs. Her blue eyes and her dark hair make for a striking combination. She works as a senior clinical research assistant. She recently placed 5th at the Jr. USA competition.

#gallery-1

Ljubov Dreskova

It was difficult to find very much in the way of accurate biographical information on this Russian fitness model and female bodybuilder. appears to be in her 30′s and about medium height (5’5″ or so). She has a very exotic look and based on recent photographs she still lives, trains, and competes in Russia. Ljubov has a very symmetric upper and lower body, and seems to have contest prep down pat considering her low bodyfat and even tan. Her legs are well defined but not terribly bulky. Beautiful smile :)

#gallery-1

Jaime Lynn Oliver

Jaime-Lynn Oliver is a fitness model from Kolowna British Columbia in Canada. She recently placed third in the Novis Fitness Model contest in the Fame Canadia Nationals. She is a forester, so I suppose you could call her a lumberjack. She says despite the fact that her job is incredibly physically demanding, preparing for her first contest was even more so. The blonde hair and golden tan work beautifully with Jaime-Lynn’s pearly white smile. She is sure to go far in the fitness model world. I wonder if she plans to continue adding muscle and eventually compete in fitness competitions.

The Track Babe

We’ve had tons of requests to cover more track and field babes like this popular post back in July. It’s tough to cover collegiate track and field because information on the female athletes is so scant. It’s even hard to find info on the meets and who wins or places near the top. So here’s a gal caught in between events. She’s all in black and looking lean and mean. Or at least ready to whip some hineys.

#gallery-1

Lisa Morton

Okay, crazy veins in her lower abs automatically qualify for our Amazing Abs category. Lisa has been involved in fitness most of her life. She was a skinny teenager, and decided to take weight training in high school to try and beef up a bit. She fell in love with the sport, and ended up pursuing a degree in exercise science. Not satisfied with a single degree, she went back for a Master’s in sports management.

She grew up in North Carolina but has moved around a bit (including a stint in Las Vegas). Lisa is 30 years old, stands 5’6″ tall, and usually competes at 135 lbs. She started competing in 2003, and won her pro card at the 2006 Jr USA placing 1st. She seems to have disappeared from the competition scene around 2007 after placing 4th and 9th in some shows. But Lisa does seem to be as active as ever doing fitness modeling.

Lisa says that modeling helped her overcome shyness.

#gallery-1

Devin Daniel

was all set to have a spectacular career in gymnastics when something happened to her that unfortunately happens to a lot of gymnasts – she got hurt. A knee injury sidelined her for several years as a teenager. She became more active when she started going to the gym and working out, and she says that has been an addiction ever since. It helps her cope with life and is almost therapeutic for her.

Devin says she’s always been pretty muscular, and considering she stays busy as a fitness model she has to be careful not to add too much muscle. She does quite a bit of cardio, and keeps it pretty light (relative to the weights she lifts) when pumping iron. She likes to train hard, and says she just doesn’t get that feeling of accomplishment if she doesn’t really sweat and grind when she’s in the gym working out.
